Today we got to visit the city of Pompeii, which you all probably know got destroyed by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in the year 79 (I had to look up that last part, mind you). The volcano is still active, but thank goodness it didin't decide to wake up the day we were there. What is kind of freaky thougg is that when I was watching the news a few days later, I learned that another volcano (Mount Etna in Sicily, Italy) had erupted a few days earlier. All I gotta say is "Whew!"
